Turner Designs sells directly within the United States and in some countries in which we do not have a distributor. If your country is not listed below you may request a quote from us directly by visiting our product catalog.
Check Order Status
An order acknowledgement is e-mailed once an order has been processed and a ship date has been set. If you have not received an order acknowledgement please contact our Order Desk to request status, as we may not have received your order. If you are outside the USA and ordered through one of our distributors please contact the distributor directly for order status.
What we cover:
Turner Designs warrants its instruments and accessories to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of 12 months from date of shipment from Turner Designs.
If your instrument becomes defective within one year of purchase, Turner Designs will repair or replace your instrument free of charge, including surface shipping costs.
What we do not cover:
Turner Designs is not responsible for replacing parts damaged by accident or neglect. Your instrument must be installed according to instructions in the User’s Manual. Damage from corrosion is not covered. Damage caused by customer modification of the instrument is not covered. This warranty covers only Turner Designs products and is not extended to equipment used with our products. We are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, except in those states where this limitation is not allowed. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.
Shipping: Although our instruments are built to withstand hard use, we cannot be responsible for damage incurred during shipment. Therefore, to avoid both cosmetic and structural damage if the instrument is shipped in the future, we recommend that you save the original packing material in which we shipped the instrument.
Obtaining Service: Please complete our return material authorization request form. A representative will contact you once your form is received. Carry out any suggested modifications or tests as recommended. Never ship an instrument to us without prior telephone or written contact. Often the problem is a relatively simple one that you can solve yourself with our direction.
If it is determined by the Turner Designs service representative that the instrument should be returned for repair, a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number will be assigned and a fixed repair price quoted for out of warranty repairs.
If you are within the continental United States pack the instrument well; insure it; write the RMA number on the outside of the shipping carton and ship it back to us. If the instrument is under warranty we will repair or replace the unit and pay for roundtrip shipment. If the instrument is not under warranty shipping costs both ways are your responsibility.
If you are outside the continental United States and purchased the instrument from an authorized Turner Designs distributor, contact that distributor. If you purchased directly from Turner Designs you are welcome to send the instrument for free repair within the limits of the warranty. You will be responsible to pay for shipment to us, duties and documentation costs outside the continental United States. We will pay for return shipment. If it is not under warranty, you will be responsible to pay for round-trip shipping, duties and documentation costs outside the continental United States.
Request for cancellation or for suspension of production must be in writing and referred to our office, Cancellations are subject to fees of 10% of order value plus customization cost (if applicable). To request cancellation of an order please contact our Order Desk.
A Return Material Authorization (RMA) is required for all returns. Please do not return any item to us without prior verbal or written authorization. Returns requested within 45 days of receipt of product will be subject to a 20% restocking fee, plus customization fee, if applicable. Returns requested after 45 days and before 90 days of receipt of product will be subject to a 30% restocking fee, plus customization fee, if applicable. No returns after 90 days will be accepted. RMAs are not issued for consumables. To request a return, please complete our return material authorization request form.
Before a return for repair is authorized you may be requested to perform suggested modifications or tests as recommended by the representative. Often the problem is a relatively simple one that you can solve yourself with our direction. If it is determined by the Turner Designs service representative that the instrument should be returned for repair, a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number will be assigned. If out of warranty, a fixed repair price will be quoted. Fixed repair rates are for instruments that have normal wear. We reserve the right to quote a different rate for instruments with extensive damage. To request a repair, please complete our return material authorization request form.
Due to material obsolescence we are only able to repair Cyclops starting with SN 2100860 and AquaFluors starting with SN 800800.
Due to material obsolescence we are not able to repair 10AUs built prior to January 1,1999 starting with SN 6720.

You can make your own Chlorophyll a standards by purchasing dry chlorophyll a from Sigma-Aldrich. Information is listed below.
If you purchase Chlorophyll a in lyophilized form from Sigma-Aldrich
- You need to mix up the initial Chlorophyll a concentration to be around 10 mg/L.
- You then need to verify the exact concentration on a Spectrophotometer, refer to EPA method 446
- You then make dilutions from this stock solution to create Standard concentrations below 250 µg/L for calibrating a Fluorometer
- Refer to EPA 445 method for the Fluorometer method
