Attenuator plates are used for fluorescent applications that have particularly high fluorescent signals. The attenuator simply decreases the amount of excitation light entering the sample thus decreasing the sample’s fluorescent signal. This will allow the signal to remain within the linear range of the instrument.
This attenuator plate (10-327R) decreases excitation energy by 75X.The appropriate attenuator for your application will depend on the signal strength of the fluorophore of interest. Applications that commonly use attenuator plates include:
