In 2017 the Department of Land and Natural Resources (Division of Aquatic Resources), headed by Julie Kuo, finished testing a Ballast-Check 2 Handheld Fluorometer which is used for rapidly indicating if ballast water is within compliance levels set by D2 discharge standards.
